GET TO KNOW OUR WONDERFUL STAFF MEMBER, BROOKE IN TODAY'S POST. BROOKE HAS BEEN AT HANNAH'S HOUSE FOR A LITTLE OVER THREE YEARS COVERING WEEKEND, OVERNIGHT, AND ALL TYPES OF DAYTIME ROLES. TODAY WE LEARN A LITTLE ABOUT HER LIFE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF HANNAH'S HOUSE!
How did you first get involved with Hannah's House?
I grew up in the area, so I have always known about Hannah's House. Though, when I was a RA at Bethel, I had a resident that actually moved into Leep. Because of this, some of the girls and I actually volunteered at the house. From there, I knew this would be a wonderful place to work. When Covid hit, I was getting tired of working from home, and I saw that Hannah's House was hiring for part time positions. I have now been working at Hannah's House for three and a half years.
What is your favorite part of working at HH?
There are so many things I love about working at Hannah's House. I love seeing the transformation that happens for each mom and their baby. I also love spending time with our residents, even if it's just a short conversation in the kitchen. With losing my mom a few years ago to addiction, I have been able to relate a bit to the residents, and I have really loved getting to share my mom's story with them. Lastly, I think the best part about working at Hannah's House is getting to hold the babies. What a joy it is to love on our beautiful babies. Oh yes, one more thing... I love my coworkers and we have such a great culture.
What else do you do outside of life at HH?
I work full time for Travelin' Toms Coffee. My "official" title is manager. We are a local coffee truck that is tied to Kona Ice Michiana. So, I truly have a really awesome job, as I get to drive around two different food trucks.
What are some of your favorite hobbies, activities, etc.
My favorite hobby is honestly working out and taking walks. I also love traveling to different coffee shops and trying out their products.
What is one fun fact that most people probably would not guess about you?
One fact about me is that I had a major heart surgery in first grade. I had an extra fiber in my heart, which would allow my heart to beat at 240 beats per minute.
Rapid style interview Questions: Favorite tv show? Favorite color? Favorite meal? Favorite activity? Favorite artist, song or musical group?
My favorite tv show would probably be the Bachelor/Bachelorette.. but back in the day. It's not as good these days. My favorite colors are honestly the neutral colors brown, grey and green... I am so boring lol. I love Mexican food and also hibachi. My favorite activity is anything that I can do outside - walking, running, hanging out with friends. My music taste is all over the place. I love worship, pop, country, folk, and a little bit of rap. My favorite artists are Little Big Town, Jason Mraz, and Brooke Ligertwood. I also love musicals so much.

Hannah's House truly has changed my life. It has been a blessing to me to get to work here part time.
