Holiday Happenings 2022 Embrace the Moment Event Summary
Our annual Holiday Happenings event was a spectacular and welcoming affair this year on December 9th, 2022, at the Gillespie Center. The night kicked off with the opening of our Silent Auction followed by pre-event photos. A warm welcome from the Hannah’s House community was paired with wine poured from our beautiful “wine walls”.
A cocktail hour brought everyone together over an open bar and tasty hors d’oeuvres, and a collection of photos from the Hannah’s House community. After cocktail hour wrapped up around 7:00 pm, the evening programming commenced with a short Embrace the Moment video and formal event introduction. The evening continued with an Invocation by Father Barry England and a delightful dinner. Keynote speaker, author, and Grammy Nominated Recording Artist, Michele Pillar took the podium to give her keynote speech.
Following Michele’s portion of the evening, the award ceremony began with the Tree of Life Award Ceremony. The Tree of Life Award was presented to RETA by Executive Director, Susan Frucci. The Tree of Life Award represents the balance and symmetry that Hannah’s House helps cultivate in the lives of the women we empower. As each mother enters our program, their roots grow deeper and stronger in their journey through our programming.
Next, Tim Killilea presented the Killilea Service award to Dr. Z (Zabukovic) for his outstanding service to our Hannah’s House community. Shannon Kaser took over the evening as the Silent Auction ended and the Live Auction commenced. Among the many auction items included this year were the Kentucky Burbon Tour, Lost Dunes Golf Package, Mishawaka Firehouse Experience, Winspire Trip in Tuscany, and the Idyllic Isle of Capri Package.
As the Live Auction wrapped up, Michele graced us with a beautiful song leading to one of our former residents sharing her story in the Heart Strings Moment video. Our Cash Appeal Auction continued the evening. As the night concluded, we took a moment to embrace our mission at Hannah’s House: “Empowering disadvantaged pregnant women to begin a process of life transformation”.

Your generosity and commitment to supporting Hannah’s House allows us to provide for and empower our residents to grow strong and healthy roots in their family trees.
